Elevating a Chinese New Year Celebration - February 2026 Shangri-La Hotel

This February, we were proud to once again provide the furniture rentals for the annual Chinese New Year celebration at the Shangri-La Hotel Toronto, an event we’ve had the pleasure of being part of for the past three years.

Each year, I’m genuinely amazed at how dramatically a space can transform. Even in a venue as beautiful as the Shangri-La, the right furniture completely shifts the atmosphere. Filled with rich reds and warm golden tones, this year’s celebration was bold, vibrant, and full of energy, and our pieces were thoughtfully selected by the designer and planner Rebecca Chan Events to enhance that vision.

A curated collection of gold finishes and deep, dark red furniture seamlessly complemented the venue’s striking palette. Dark red velvet sofas created inviting lounge areas, while matching ottomans added softness and flexibility to the layout. Gold-based cruiser tables introduced warmth and elegance, subtly reflecting the surrounding décor and lighting. The combination of rich upholstery and metallic accents helped ground the space while elevating its overall look and feel.

Three Years of Transformation

Having provided furniture for this celebration for the past three years, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how the space evolves annually. While the overall vision may shift from year to year, the goal remains the same: to create a welcoming and impactful environment for guests. Being a trusted partner in that process is something we value deeply, and it continues to inspire us to approach each installation with fresh perspective and intention.

What I love most about this event is seeing how our furniture plays a role in bringing the overall design together. Working alongside talented vendors who contribute to the full vision, we’re able to enhance the environment without overpowering it. It’s a true collaboration and proof that the right furniture can completely transform a room.
